The Ashanti (Asante) is the traditional stool of Kings among the Ashanti people. Here it is combined with their national game, oware (wari, awele), making it a stunning accent to any home decor.

The stool is 45cm long, 22cm wide and 40cm high and comes with recycled glass Ghana Beads for playing the game. Designs will vary.

The Stem includes traditional symbols of Ashanti culture.

Essential to Ashanti nationhood, a major tribal group in Ghana, is the legend of the Golden Stool (sika 'dwa). In the seventeenth century, in order for the Ashanti to win their independence a meeting of all the clan heads was called. In this meeting, the Golden Stool was commanded down from the heavens.

It floated down and straight into the lap of Osei Tutu I. The stool was declared to be the symbol of the new Ashanti Nation and allegiance was sworn to the Golden Stool and to Osei Tutu as the King.
