In Ghana, where the idea was born, they call it, "Sidan" (to build the house).
We are delighted to see Sidan returned to its place of birth. To our knowledge no other store in the world sells the game as made in Ghana.
And to make a good thing even better, for those who love authenticity, "Sidan" is hand made and Fair Trade by Geolicrafts, in Accra Ghana.
A game of similair style (Jenga) was brought to the rest of the world by a British woman named Leslie Scott. Scott was born in East Africa and later moved to Ghana, West Africa.
Jenga is based on a pastime that evolved within her family using children's wooden building blocks bought locally while living in Ghana in the early '70s. Scott manufactured and launched the game at the London Toy Fair in 1983.
Get on board, bring your family and friends to the table and enjoy this authentic, hand made, Sidan, knowing that the money spent has made it back to the country that gave us the inspiration for this great game in the first place!
