About the Play.
A king begins the game placed in the centre of the chess board surrounded by 8 of his guard. 16 attackers sit along the four sides.
All chess game pieces play like rooks from chess, going along the horizontal and vertical rows (no diagonals).
A truly Ancient Classic. Throughout northern Europe there are variations of this chess set, such as Hnafeltafl, Fichneal, and sometimes the game Tablut.
2 players 12 to adult.
