Froggy Boogy (Boogie) is a Fun Memory Race Around the Pond!
Here’s the scenario: It’s nap time at the pond but the baby frogs still want to play. Baby frogs try to be the first to hop around the pond without being seen by the adult frogs.
Players guess or remember which adult frog popping eyes will freeze the baby frogs in their race. If Mama/Papa Frog are watching the baby frogs, they cannot hop around the pond!
A fresh twist on traditional Memory board games, Froggy Boogie is a quick-moving, clever new thinking game for kids. Ideal for memory development, counting skills, colour recognition, and leaps forward in social interactions!
A wide span of ages find it fun to hop the cute little baby frogs around the pond. Small fingers lift eyeballs of parent frogs to see if they are watching. If Mama/Papa Frog is not – expect fits of giggles and a baby frog rushing ahead to the next lily pad.
Froggy Boogy: The Play of the Game
- Toss the 2 coloured dice
- Choose the Mama/Papa frog of the same colour as the dice
- Select an eyeball from the Mama/Papa frog
- If the eyeball has a little frog pictured on the bottom the baby frog must stay put
- No baby frog – then the baby frogs may move ahead
- (Players must remember which popping eyes will allow the baby frogs to hop ahead; which popping eyes will freeze baby frogs on the lily pad.)
- The baby frog who hops all around the pond is the winner.

Froggy Boogie is a simple enough game, but has two magnificent mechanics that make it both accessible to little kids, and interesting enough to hold their attention.
The first mechanic that I’d like to emphasise is how the dice work. The dice have colours painted on their sides instead of numbers or symbols, and for each combination of colours that can appear there is exactly one mummy frog that corresponds (note in the photo above that each mummy frog has a base colour with a different colour stripe painted through the middle).
In spite of two dice spitting out 36 different possible permutations, all combinations are covered by the 9 mummies available. The beauty here is that a four-year-old can look at the two dice colours and find the corresponding mummy frog with no help from mum or dad whatsoever, and kids love it when they can do it on their own.
Froggy Boogy is an excellent kids game, that involves memory, counting and colour recognition. The rules are easy to grasp for a 4 year old, and it’s a lot of fun for young kids.
The material in Froggy Boogy is beautiful and appealing, and made of sturdy hardwood.
